EVENTS & TRAINING FORUMS

One of the primary focal points for the EventRights project was to provide opportunities for early stage and more experienced colleagues to learn from each other across the duration of the project. Additionally, we also wanted to bring academic partners into dialogue with a range of stakeholders from the sport (event) and human rights landscape. Over the course of the last few years, we have hosted the following online and in-person events and training forum events:

2022: Foregrounding a rights-based agenda for sport events: Insights from Research & Practice, Centre for Culture, Sport & Events, University of the West of Scotland/

2023: International sport events as platforms to facilitate dialogue on human rights and initiate social change, Special Workshop at the NASSM conference, Montreal, Canada.

2023: Sports Economics and Management Symposia in Obergurgl, Austria with a specific track on human rights and Mega Events. 12. Innsbrucker Sportökonomie & -Management Symposium – Veranstaltungskalender der Innsbrucker Universitäten (uibk.ac.at)

2024: Disability Sport: Promoting Human Rights, Diversity and Inclusion? Conference, 26th to 28th June 2024 – Coventry University, UK

2024: International Sport Business Symposium: Future of the Games, 8th August, Paris.
